Dr. Hector Bush received a Bachelor of Science in microbiology from Howard University in 1987. In 1991, Dr. Bush graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. In 1994, Dr. Bush earned his 2-year Certificate in Orthodontics from the Howard University School of Dental Medicine where he also completed his Graduate Orthodontic Residency.
Dr. Bush has recently moved to the Seattle/Tacoma area. For more than 20 years, Dr. Bush has been committed to providing quality orthodontic treatment to children and their families throughout the state of Georgia. Illustrating this commitment, he established the "Share a Smile" program in 1994. Since launching the program, he has partnered with various organizations and has donated orthodontic care to children throughout Georgia and Washington Sate. He has partnered with the Methodist Home, the Beatrice Carey Steel Pitts Orphanage, Congressman Jim Maddox, and Dr. E.T. Walton.
In 2010, Dr. Bush had the honor of re-naming the Share a Smile Program to The Dr. Andrew Young Sr. Share a Smile Program, in acknowledgement of the legacy of Dr. Andrew Young Sr., who practiced dentistry in New Orleans for almost 60 years, and is the father of the civil-rights icon Ambassador Andrew Young Jr. Dr. Bush received the 2019 Howard University Distinguished Alumni award from the school of Dental Medicine. Currently, Dr. Bush is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Washington State Dental Association, as well as the North Georgia Dental Society.
